For our second brief the item I got was a screw. I took photos of screws bunched together and separated, under bright lights and close up and far away.
Here are some of the photos that I took:

Prototypes!
Over Easter I made a prototype of my letter form 'F'. I used the idea of the bar chart and thought that lengths of timber cut at different angles would be the right way to go to achieve this.

I was happy with my prototype but after a group crit on Monday with Mary. I realized that I still had a lot of work to do with my idea. It was suggested that I use dark, depressing colours for the bar chart rather then your typical bright happy colours. It was also said that I should roughen up the surface of the timber to get the effect that it was worn away and broken down.

On Tuesday I spoke to Patricia and she suggested that I maybe try make another prototype from one of my original thumbnails.
I made this F from timber lengths too. The concept for this was that the F is unfinished due to the construction industry running out of financial support from banks, government, etc. So like many building sites around the country, it's left unfinished and half constructed.
Today I decided that the bar chart F has more of an impact of getting the word 'finance' across and is more obvious what it represents rather than the unfinished F.

Idea for this project
Over the Easter holidays I narrowed down my ideas and choose to pick the letter F as being represented by a bar chart. This is to show that finance is all about statistics, facts and figures and because of the recession, statistics is a major element.
I'm experimenting with materials to try and get this effect.
